so here is the last show for my literal most loved band i’ve ever heard, recorded at The Nick in the magic city. RIP Dexateens, you were indeed righteous.

hey guys. so elliot mcpherson is my new hero. the dexateens are splitting up, leading me to say they are now “dexadults”, but they are my new darlings and even though they are all but officially split up i will still keep memories of their melodies like pictures of my parents when they were young. ”take me to the speedway/drag me through the red clay/wash away the bad times”. those are good words (its actually a little different but fuck it). the poetry of failure is the hardest of hitters and is needed from time to time. sometimes you bear a good portion of honesty in efforts to redeem a broken script only to find that your words were never wanted, and the smiles were only facade, a front. but the beauty is that more often than not, whether you agree with it or not, is that it’s for the best, that you leave without saying goodbye, that you roll the credits before something else goes wrong, that’s the secret to a happy ending…
I was at this show and forgot just how damn funny this band can be.
